I have enjoyed shooting
sports for many years.
There's the "photography" aspect. It is a challenge to shoot
sports well. Timing, angles, skill and luck all play a big part. Then
there is simply the "atmosphere" of
a game. There is a special feeling one gets on the sidelines at a high
school football game in the fall. The youthful exhuberance of the fans,
a crisp autumn
breeze, and the sometimes slightly out of tune rendition of the National
Anthem by the high school band. I enjoy shooting sports.
I LOVE shooting football!
It has been an honor through
the years, to have worked for parents and various
media outlets, as well as the University of Evansville Sports Information
Department.
My aim is to show the spirit and drive of the competition in the images.
The goal is not just to "take a picture", but to create an image
and "capture a moment".
A moment that has focus, appealing composition, proper exposure, and hopefully
has some
impact on those who view it.
Many thanks to the staff of the Evansville Courier & Press Photography
department for past opportunities, advice and guidance.
